What about Disco I steel rims? Maybe not "stock" for a coil sprung military vehicle but they are "stock" Land Rover rims.

They are fairly easy to obtain on the second hand market (due to the number of DI's reaching their 'use by date' & being wrecked) and are reasonably priced.

I'm not sure of the load rating but I've been running them on numerous 110's for remote area touring and haven't had a problem with them.

They are a 7" wide rim and will take the 255x85R16 tyres that you propose using quite comfortably.

Simple answer: none.

You can't get the colour (olive drab) for a start. Black or white is pretty much it.

Once you accept that, you have a few you can choose from.
From the UK MOD wolf style rims (http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Land-Rover-Perentie-TD5-Puma-Wolf-Heavy-Duty-Steel-Rim-/221272924245?hash=item3384e4e055) @ $195 ea - 16*6.5J 1080kg load rated

to

Dynamic D 16*7 20P offset 1200kg Load rating @ $80-100ea which should include new wheels nuts as you cannot use the Land Rover nuts with this rim due to a different taper on the rim.

The defender/110/Disco1 stud pattern is a little odd - 5 x 165.1 - so there aren't many choices.

If you really want, you could get some Disco steelies prepped and powder coated in olive drab for about $80 ea ( I looked into it and that was the price from a local shop ) or even get some new rims stripped and re-coated.

The factory steel wheels look identical...

I run Gecko black steel wheels. About $100 each from most local suppliers.

Gecko Wheels | Quality Steel Wheels are available in Australia Wide (http://www.geckowheels.com.au/steel_wheels.html)

Available in 16*7 or 16*8 if required.

I have a set of Disco 1 rims with 255/85/16s on the county, but due to the offset (i think they are +33?) they scrub unless the steering stops are adjusted.

No problems with the Gecko wheels on the Perentie. They don't look quite standard but I don't think they look particularly out of place either.

can you get those that will fit the Perentie hub? and do they have an offset that will allow fitting 255s?

Yes and yes. Stop going around in circles, we have been through this!

The Perentie has the same stud pattern as every 90/110/County/Defender.

Disclaimer: From what I have read on this forum, if you use 255/85R16 on +33 factory rims you MAY rub on full lock (so adjust the steering stops) and you MAY rub the rear spring perch on full articulation. However on HD Rims I have had no problems.

Not going around in circles at all. To my mind, factory fit includes colour.
You should be able to get those steelies powder coated in Olive drab.
The big question will be how much Land Rover wants for em! I'm betting on a lot.

Didn't the hubs change when the first 2.4 Puma came out, or am I thinking of something else? probably am, my brain doesn't like working lately :(

You can't give away factory steelies, I picked some up before they went in the bin the other day. I bet anyone who owns more then one Rover has a set in the shed haha

I really like the look of the Wolf Rims. Factory OEM and Heavy Duty. I would most likely have them Powder coated OD. Thank you everyone for your help. This is a great web site.

Genuine wolf rims are load rated to 2200kg, "wolf style" rims are much less. I have had a set of genuine Wolfs for about 10 years, I galvanised them about 6 years ago. If I didn't want the stock wheels on my other Perentie, I wouldn't even consider anything else.

This is what they look like - genuine "wolf" tubeless ones

I can't tell from the picture; if they have ANR4583 imprinted into the rim and about 5 things imprinted around the nave then they'll be genuine. Copies have nothing imprinted.

And I still think that's the best Land Rover around, aside from my own, of course :)
