I remember seeing it at an air show back in the mid 90s. It's a huge beast.

*EDIT* just looking back, it was 1990, not mid 90s. Time flies!

I'd love to see that 225. Heck even the 124 is a big aircraft !

The 225 was built initially to carry Buran I think?

Looking at the comparative chart in the article it's not that much bigger than an Airbus. Looks huge in the video though with all of those wheels.

It certainly looks huge in the flesh. As a kid, I often saw USAF C-5s and C-141s flying in and out of the various airforce bases we lived on, but seeing the AN225 at the Farnborough airshow in 1990 was a step up again.

A bit late coming to this thread, sorry. The Lancaster is at the RAAF Association of WA Museum at Bull Creek. I had the privilege of having a look through her after I completed pilot training way back at the end of last century.

Yep. They took a 124. Which in itself is bigger then a C5, stretched the wings, couple.more motors, longer body, the split tail is because of the buran disrupting the airflow over the single tail. I think they only made 2 of them?
