Loud errrring sound at slow speed

HI all, my disco makes this unusual loud groaning sound often when initially gaining momentum and sometimes when towing either the boat or trailer on rough or hilly terrain. It seems to be coming from the the front LHS although I can't find anything obvious and would be grateful for any ideas. I thought it might have something to do with the power steering
