Howdy All
It has been a while since I visited the AULRO world, but things look to be going from strength to strength style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif Love the NSW vs Victorian rivalry
Things are going great at our end. Having to finally drag ourselves away from North Queensland and start heading over to Alice Springs, via Birdsville, Cooper Creek etc. Have to be in Melbourne in time for the Cup
Couple of pics from the last few months.
Hope all are well
Regards

Howdy seqfisho
Things are going along great. Kimba is getting a bit tired (done just over 30,000kms since April, including the Transcontinental Railway, West Coast, Kimberleys, Gulf, Cape York and now Central Aust). He is looking a bit tatty around the edges with bits starting to fall off.
Iggy is fine and just keeps poking along. No dust, unlike Kimba (at the end of each day we both look like Afghans, covered in dust and scarfs!)
Glad you like the pics, there are some other ones in the gallery.

How have you found dragging the camper behind you?
Has it caused you grief trying to get anywhere, was it easy to do the transcontinental line etc and the cape with it?
I only ask as Im looking at getting a camper next year and doing some of those locations.

Fantastic pics, Noddy. Off to your gallery to see more.
Re the dust. A mate of mine noticed and admired your wind deflectors on your front doors in Broome. He has a truck cab Defender with no aircon and he and his wife love to drive with their windows open. As a result they have this rather bizarre orange/ginger coloured hair on opposite sides of their heads.
They were hoping that the deflectors would allow them to continue to drive with the windows open without looking weird after two days on the dirt. I know the dust will get into the cab anyway and that's life but do you get much coming in your side windows?
cheers

G'day JamesH, mate I had a set of weather sheilds or wind deflectors on my 110, the left side is still there but the drivers side came off one day driving and was crushed by the car following before I could retrieve it but I was actually pleased about it as they do not allow air into the cab unless you have vents in the dash and unfortunatley my 110 (1984 mod) doesn't have such luxury, IMHO I would not fit them, but to each his own as they say. I have put footwell vents in and these are far the best thing I ever fitted but if you have a fairly new Landrover you may be a bit reluctant to cut holes in the front wings through to the inside of the cab but do they drag in the air!!, anyway like the rest of us I have enjoyed the pix put up by Noddy keep em coming cheers Dennis

Howdy Disco95! Long time no chat
'Iggy' the Ultimate has been brillant. No dust gets in at all, which is a blessing at the end of the day. It has been everywhere we wanted to take it and done it really easily.
We had a couple following us up the Telegraph Track who were blown away but what it could do and the angles and slopes it managed to get at.
I got it stuck the other day for the first time, near Innaminka after some rain  The place turned to serious mud and Kimba just could not pull himself and Iggy out of the crossing. Managed to get Kimba out and winch Iggy out.
I would not hesitate for a minute in getting one again, especially when they have such a good re-sale. For our trip the trailer has been perfect, as we will have been away for a year when we get back and that it a bit long for a swag or tent. Any other time, I would prefer the swag/tent.
As for the perspex wind shields, they are good for cutting down on wind noise, more than anything else when driving with the windows down. Dust just pours in through the door sills.
Tdi130dualcab -- We are in Alice at the moment so will drop you a Pm

Thanks for your reply Dinty. I forgot I asked that question
The Defender in question is a 96 130 with working front vents so maybe it will be alright.

Looking good mate.
Plenty of time in photoshop, I really like the frames program you run.
What filters are you carrying with you, and are you using prime lenses most of the time or zooms?
If you are yet to go to Fraser, you will have to call in, I am moving to Hervey Bay next weekend.
You can do more of this

The only filter I use is a polariser for landscapes.
I reckon 70-80% of pics are taken using a wide angle lens (12-24mm). I only have one prime which is a 50mm 1.8 (one of the best value lenses I have).
I have a 70-200mm zoom which is great for birds  and the like style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif
Maggot -- Fraser Island is currently being planned as a holiday from our holiday when we get back (probably Feb/Mar) next year.
