GPS - factory for off road in 05 HSE D3

Hi There. I would like to use my factory GPS to guide me to GPS settings off road. IE long/lat settings I see for particular camp spots etc. Can it do this for me? I have no instructions and can't get it to work but not sure if I am doing it wrong or unit not capable. I can enter coordinates but then it doesn't work like it's a road version that doesn't recognise where I am.
I assume being a rover she should work off road!

Don't bother!
Use a separate tablet and a mapping app.
I use TwoNav and scanned maps. Covers all NSW, Vic, Qld, SA & Deserts.
Not turn by turn Nav though.
OSMAnd is another which has turn & turn offroad as well. Most tracks are on it too. Aus map $4.49 contours free.
