Hi there, does anyone have a contact number that they can PM me for Graeme at LLAMS? Am installing a kit bought second hand that came out of a D3 into a D4, and am stuck with incompatible connectors, plus the LLAMS loom connector is stuck in the ECU...!

Thanks

Thanks a lot. The immediacy has ceased, I was able to get the LLAMS loom out of the ECU, and the OEM loom reconnected, so my mate can drive. I'll wait for Graeme to reply to my email/PM.

An incompatible connector indicates that the wrong smaller connector has been selected. Use 1 connector from each end rather than 2 next to each other - the one next to the grey/larger connector looks the same but has different keying to the one at the other end.

Occasionally the grey connector can be stubborn to remove, in which case remove the ecu (a single 10mm bolt at the top then slide the ecu upwards) to allow a better grip on the grey connector to ease it out.

Edit. If that's an early loom with 5 wires from each of the black and grey connector sections then be sure to fit a cable-tie around the joined grey connectors.

Thanks for the reply Graeme, I feel like an idiot now... Yes, I selected the connector beside the grey one, rather than the one at the other end... Glad to know that it was just user stupidity. Will have another go at connecting it up in a few days.

You're by no means the first to choose the wrong connector. Not quite the same mistake that one person made when he didn't remove the panel above the pedals so was looking for confirmation of his plan to modify connectors at the side to fit. Fortunately he subsequently emailed pictures because until then I couldn't work out what connectors he had found.

I found the pdf of install instructions illustrated with photos to be excellent. Do you have a copy Will?

I had everything I needed to do the job correctly. However I went by (my failing) memory, and got it wrong...
