Alarm goes off in Freelander 2 2007

Fixed the remote battery issue a couple of years ago, now the alarm has a mind of its own. I have heard that replacing the hood latch on one side might help.
Could it be related to the remote ? or battery ?

Switch in the driver's side bonnet catch is a likely culprit.
