Hi, I have a jackless perentie. Can you buy the original jack or should I just try to get a generic? I understand this was a bottle jack. I've also heard that high lift jacks aren't much chop due to flexing...

Thanks

Jon

changed a tyre on a truck a few weeks ago. It had a squat jack with a large square base bolted to it to allow it easy to slid under. The pump action was horizontal. It was a factory supplied jack I think was a canter or small Isuzu.

Boss has been buying jacks recently for odd jobs and trailers. Purchased a good Armstrong jack for a fuel trailer-1500Kg with landcruiser wheels.
with a flat tyre its vey close to the ground but you need long stroke to get a new tyre on.

The first time I used it the small first stage full extended, then dropped back in allowing the larger primary stage to pop out as I removed the wheel nuts.

I use a hilux jack in my ser 3.

High lift Perentie Jacks are for sale on landybitz, this looks the same as the one I got with my 1991 Perentie RFSV

I just bought a suitably rated bottle jack. I'm not sure why people get hung up on trying to find the original.

Would start with a bottle jack first.....hi-lift jack would be at the bottom of my wish list.

It's a collectors thing. You either get it, or you don't.

I have the hilift, so for now I will just use a block of wood under her when changing tyres.
It came with a heavy lump of Jarrah in one of the carriers (with screws screwed into one side for some unknown reason), I guess this was to go under the jack.
