No worries Harry.
Only bit that's a bit tricky, is trying to get the cable out of the door handle in the door card. Bit of a 2 man job. Otherwise all very straightforward.

I found the hardest part being removing the glass from the regulator. Need two pairs of hands for that.

I found a couple of strips of duct tape a big help at that point Dale. Held the glass still.

Hi Dave,
Good idea..........like it.
I had good Nashua gaffa tape and it didn't want to budge. :(
Second pair of hands appeared and saved the day (er evening actually :angel:).
That's the other thing Harry - do it in daylight! ;)

If your windows are tinted only put the tape on the outside.

Some good videos on Youtube for door card removal also.
The trickiest bit for me was the bit accurately described as follows;
"This is the fiddliest part of the operation but you can tell by looking at the new latch to be fitted how the clip locks in place. There are two notches in the metal and the cable clips into the two notches at both top and bottom of the fastening, thus meaning there are in fact four 'fingers' holding the outer cable in situ. Just prise these 'fingers' away using a screwdriver through the latch aperture with a bit of force on the cable and it will release eventually."
It's super fiddly and I snapped off one of the lugs so spend a lot of time looking at what's metal and what's plastic before doing this bit. All's OK because the part is ultimately held in position anyway once reinstalled but I hate breaking things.

I am back, its fixed.
I did have a delay because I had to go to work and get tools, but apart from not reading the complete thread for some extra tips on detaching the door handle cable, it went well.
tested it all ok, now that the rain and shoddy weather is here, it is time to drive it.
gotta love disco's in the wet..

Yes, it's nice to be able to use the car again, but while it was down I had to use the s2a, which is so much fun to drive
