First and most importantly I just picked up my first Discovery 4:D. I owned a series 1 many years ago which was a great bush truck and very capable but for the last 12 years I've owned a Patrol (which was exceptionally capable, reliable and tough).
I'm now the proud owner of an MY12 HSE with the works, seven seat, sunroof, cold climate pack (love it!), rear seat entertainment, adaptive cornering headlights etc. very nice car to drive.
Getting used to the many features, buttons etc and compiling a list of what I need to do, camping battery, electric brake controller, uhf, decent tyres (unfortunately it has 20" rims..), and maybe a front bar.
But one thing is annoying me. Every time I change the volume a big graphic display of the new volume shows on the screen for several seconds, stopping you doing anything else with the screen until it goes away. Any ideas how to disable this? I know it seems a trivial question and I have search the forum already.
Thanks all.

Should be able to disable if you go into settings. There is an option to disable that exact function.

Thanks DrOsteo, I had a good look through all the settings available and also through the manual but no joy. This is an MY12 with HiLine audio, is there somewhere specific I should be looking?

I normally use my knuckles in those situations ha ha ha
I bought a new 2008 Hilux that had excruciating Bluetooth problems, people could never hear you speaking. One day it got the better of me and I pushed the radio through the dash with my knuckles. It was a good excuse to go buy a VMS at the time, which I must say wasn't much better but the Satnav worked.
That volume display would "P" me off too, good luck with that.
Post up if you overcome it, you have me worried as I'm about to step into a D4. Eeek!

don't worry, you can definitely disable it in the current models, not sure about the older ones. Look under <SYSTEM SETTINGS> ==> <SCREEN> ==> <VOLUME POPUP> ==> <ON/OFF>
I found it seriously annoying too.
