Simex centipede ET's

Does anybody know where & the best price to get a set of simex extreme trekker centipedes 33x11.5x16 from. Does anybody have any contacts ?

When I bought my JT2's I found that the prices did not vary a lot. One place said that Dynamic (who are the importers) strictly control the price and do not allow much discounting.

IMHO I would look around for a set of good 2nd hand tyres. You can usually pick up tyres with 80% tread for half the price of new. Outer Limits is the best place to look.

If you are going to buy new have you considered the JT2's. They are a much better tyre, quieter on the road, just as good in the mud and I reckon they give better lateral traction. I think the only reason all the comp guys use ET's is because JT2's are only available up to 34"

I have in mind Anthony's Mudzillas but was just worried about width 13.5".
I am actually beginning to not want extreme trekkers anymore (yes Anthony is beginning to turn me as well). I do however still like the JT2's but I really want a tyre that will suit rock crawling.
What does everyone suggest ??
I want 33" tyres..........MTR's......Pro Comps........has anyone seen the re-treads that look like Boggers ??

If you are not into mud and bog holes then forget the Simex's as that is where the excel but are not as good on rock, especially slick rock.

For rock & san I like the MTR's. I have seen the MTR's go places on rock that the others could not follow, but in the mud they suck!

For allrounder you can never go past the BFG M/T.

I think you had a D2, is that right? If so then I don't think you will ever fit 13.5" tyres, 11.5 is about max.

Glenn from Brothers Offroad who I am doing work for is sponsored by GOODYEAR so I can get the MTR's at a good price, he said to get 285/75/R16's which are 33" so I might get some prices.

MTRs are good when new, after that they dont seem to be so crash hot.

The benefit with an MTR is the side wall, itsabit stronger than most other aggresive radials (except the Mudzilla which has the strongest sidewall EVAR).

But for alround the MT Radial Claws are very good tyre. they have a weaker sidewall than the mtr but they are alot stronger than the BFG.

The new maxxis bighorn looks like a pretty damn good alrounder and wouldnt be a bad choice IMHO.

Another tyre worth looking at is the Dick Cepek FC-II. It is classed as an A/T tyre but it is a lot better than that. It is quiet on the road but gives great grip on all surfaces.
