Not the usual extension issue thread, something a bit different.

I cannot get the runners on the drivers side seat base to stay fixed on 1 position. Not a problem when I drive as it is all the way back, but my girlfriend uses it as her daily driver. On the odd Occassion it has shot back on junctions etc leaving her a long way from the pedals!

It seems that the springs may be weak and I found a small 4mm ball bearing floating around to. Maybe it's broken?

They are simple enough and I'm wondering if anyone here has had the same problem. I'm happy to swap it out for a new one but they are $200 in the UK before postage.

Would it be possible to separate the base of the passenger side and swap runners?

Any help appreciated or a good used one if you have one spare!

Thanks

G

There quite easy to replace , You only need a socket , not sure the size on yours , but about 10mm . Slide the seat back take the front bolts out , slide forward take the rear bolts out . Then you you can lift the whole seat and track out , slide the seat off the runners ! Try a few wreckers first , you should be able to do better than paying $ 200 . Jim
