Hey guys

One thing I miss from my last car was the mirrors folding in, does anyone know how difficult it would be to retrofit a pair of powered mirrors to operate when locking and unlocking the car? (Ideally also when pressing both buttons inside too)

Also, if I'm going to get a pair of power mirrors, my car is a 2011 but I would be interested in fitting the my14+ mirrors.. Does anyone know if they would be a direct fit?

I stumbled across this picture on instagram last night, it would appear a retrofit mirror is a real possibility of a direct fit!

Though i can't believe how much mirrors are from our 'friend' at triumph rover spares so if anyone knows a better source let me know?

sheerluck put some current D4 mirrors on his D3 - no idea if they fold or not.
Apparently the mounting is the same. I have folding mirrors on my MY10 D4 but wouldn't mind some of the newer style ones, if I could find some very cheap Nara Bronze ones...

I did, and they don't. ;)

My D3 is a non-powerfold, non-memory version anyway. The mounting is the same, the wiring colours are the same, I just had to swap the wiring connector over to suit the door loom on my D3.

Thanks guys.

Sheerluck, are yours the MY15 ones? Where did you get them from and for how much do you mind me asking?

Justin - if I find them at a reasonable cost I'll let you know. Don't be put off by colour, you can have the caps sprayed cheaply.

Yep, MY15 with the indicator in the mirror housing. As new, not a mark on them. Paid $175 for the pair on Gumtree, including shipping from the Sunshine Coast.

And the body coloured rear covers do prise off very easily. Mine are in the shed waiting for some attention with the spray gun.

Very good price!
Do they not have the motor in them to fold or you just can't get them to Operate?

Was very happy, price wise. Was half the price of the new D3 mirror I'd ordered (that took a month to arrive)

My D3 doesn't have the requisite hardware to make the folding & memory function work. So while they fit, plumb in perfectly, and look a whole lot better the the plain old D3 ones, I have to be content with that for the moment.

There's a set for sale in the UK. DISCO3.CO.UK - View topic - [For Sale] Electric. Folding wing. Mirrors. Both sides. In (http://www.disco3.co.uk/forum/topic139233.html?highlight=Folding+mirrors)
They might ship them. Would be interesting to know the cost.

Oztourer: They are $600 before postage.. eek!

Yeah I could be content too, good job. Any chances of some pics sheerluck?

I cant imagine they will come on gumtree too often, not many 2014-16 D4's would be written off yet and they will never be upgraded due to the D5 coming soon.

I will have to scourer the UK websites and see what I come up with

Ok Gav, I replaced the (very broken) mirror today. Got a pair from a MY15 D4 at a very reasonable price.:)

Will be removing the side repeaters, and getting the blanking plate/badge in their place.

A bit moodily lit....

I am very jealous of my father's L322 mirror puddle lights - now I NEED new mirrors ;)

In the RRV the lights in the mirrors are called approach lights - they illuminate upon unlocking the vehicle but useless when opening and closing the door to open/close gates. Its puddle lights are under the bottom inside edge of the door.
