Last few days when I turn key to start engine I get no cranking but when I turn switch off and turn again, engine starts. This happened twice yesterday and a couple of times the day before.
Is this a sign the switch contacts are on the way out?
Any auto electricians on the forum that can diagnose this problem?
The car is out of warranty by one month but am not in the mood of visiting dealer again[emoji16]
Thanks

It could just be the switch, but it could also be the ECU signalling a failed start. This could mean that you have poor electrical connection to your Starter Motor, or a faulty Starter Motor. Time to get underneath and check it all out.

Something similar happened to mine last year. (2.2 MY2013). My local mechanic diagnosed correctly switch contacts not making properly. LR replaced.

It started as an intermittent failure to crank, once in a blue moon, switch off once and try again would usually work. Over a period of time it happened more often, and required more try again cycles (key off and try again) before it would crank.

Well, it looks like I will have to visit the dealer again as I had this issue reported in 2015 and off course the had the apprentices trying to diagnose.
Thanks
