Hi folks. Anyone know of access to RRC door rubbers preferably in WA, but anywhere? Mario/Heather don't stock and I tried Scotts Rubbers but got no reply.
I know I need front RHS, and possibly others. Front drivers floorwell soaked but skylight drains OK. Probably a good idea to do window rubbers at the same time?
Cheers Gavin

Hi Gavin
Discovery 2 rubbers will fit. They don't have the fawn or grey colour but are black only.
I got a good used set from a wreck and fitted them 3 weeks ago and all is good.

. . . No problem Gavin, seeing as you can't drive Bessie AND Dan at the same time, you could swap the door-rubbers....depending on the weather and which car you need to drive today...:twisted:
(did you really expect an intelligent comment from me ?:p )

Clark Rubber have the pinchweld in bulk, and you can cut off using a seal as pattern.
I found that superglue will work on making corners ie 45degree cuts.

Suppliers like Purple Pig or Total Rubber also do off the shelf pinch welds with rubber seals in a variety of sizes and styles, I have a sample here that fits well, but no idea now what part number it was.
Take your old one in and match it up.

Thanks to Bradtot for yet another gem.
I stole a pair of front rubbers from one of DazzaTD5's 2 D2 currently being wrecked while he watched. Mant thanks Darren, even though I'll no doubt pay for it next service. :wasntme:

Thanks - as in first post many hours ago, I tried Scotts but no response, and still not!

If your enquiry has urgency, why not use the telephone?

Already fixed per favour of Bradtot as per earlier post. If people have websites with contact details, but then don't respond within 48 hours/2 business days, I usually start looking elsewhere, even if they were a recommendation (except aulro members of course, who get special treatment).

. . . And fair enough too. An email or 'contact us' communication gives them more scope to ensure they are answering the potential client's needs... so the return call / message will be comprehensive and convenient to both parties.
I left "contact" details on Sunday night via websites ("Leave your message and we'll get back to you in 48 hours" ) to two Solar - supply & repair companies, one of which had added 1kW of panels to my system last year... - NONE replied.
Today is Thursday evening, a bit more than '48 hours'. Yesterday anytime would have been acceptable.
So, the one which I rang on Tuesday afternoon, which gave me good advice / choices over the phone is booked next week for repairing/replacing my 5kW inverter.... $650 or $2,500 - Don't care which as my insurance 'excess' is still $500 either way.
Silly thing is... if they hadn't had a 'Contact Form' on their websites, I would have rang them all on MONDAY morning instead...

Sorry for the late reply - I don't bother with this forum much anymore - but the part number for my 4-door seals was pinchweld rubber 60-054. A search for this number will have plenty of results. I had similar problems with specialist suppliers so I figured this out and got some from eBay.
I measured the front doors at 4 metres each, and 3.5 metres for the rears. Cutting the mitred corners was best done with a large, sharp wood chisel, (I found out later on!).
Of course the doors still aren't leak-proof!

I've had a prob with a very similar supplier for Bailey channel.
Wasn't cheap, freight wasn't cheap, was only for one door.
Hung in the shed for a couple of years and when I went to fit it I found I really needed another half a metre to to the door top. Never again.

DL, your post reminded me of when I did mine. One "rubber specialist" answered one email but not the next. Another guy sent enough channel for my 4-door but then I found that the rear vertical channel for the rear door windows is a smaller size.
Hilarious* emailing followed where he did nothing about it and then admitted that he had started selling channel for 4-doors without checking an actual 4-door vehicle. He did at least send something that worked, eventually.
At least I got the part numbers out of it, which I haven't seen anywhere else. For all the windows except the rear vertical channel for the rear windows: 350.634. For that rear window channel: 350.452. It will pay to check these numbers, but that's what I dug out of my records tonight. And it should save somebody from having to deal with these . . . er . . . "casual" businesses.
