Identify this sensor?

This sensor sits up against the pulley wheel of the AC compressor, but in my (MY05) I can't figure what sensor is needed to monitor RPM's of the AC compressor.


Specifically, I am referring to the black plastic piece that is a bit hidden by the fan shroud in the first photo and in the center of the photo in the second.

It looks to me like the power wire to turn the airconditioner clutch on when required.
