Lower control arm feedback

I only picked up my '06 D3 HSE V8 last week. It's only done 80k. I had a pre inspection check done and all but I'm now hearing the clunk from the front end and getting a wobbly steering wheel when breaking slowly from high speeds.

I'm in the eastern suburbs of Melbourne, who has had good experiences with a machanic out this way and what would it approx cost me? Is it a job I could take on myself?

I've used Rover Land (now Eastern Ranges Prestige) on Dorset road ferntree gully for around 10 years and always got my d1&2 serviced there. There are always D3's there too so I would recommend them.

I gave up looking and bought a d4 after 2 months...=D
