I really think Bris. could do with more original live venues. Used to have one within a short stroll but it was shut down because of noise complaints. If you move into a place with a music venue nearby it is your choice. Not yours to shut it down. Had some neighbours in Syd. that bragged about the effort they put into shutting down the Hoptoun as a live venue. We didn't get on.

Totally agree.....it like people that buy a house under a flight path than join the campaign against the airport.........

The Tivoli in Brisbane has just been purchased by a consortium for $8000000 to save it as a live venue and protect it from a future as high rise units.

Yes we have in the past , they have put on some good stage shows, complete with dinner. Easter time with the yacht race, and live bands at Moorea Park, live music in the Town Hall, the old town Rocks.

That's what keeps the live original music scene alive. Good on ya

No.2 son is forming a band. He has been involved with the live band scene for some time now, I think the music is called grunge, his best mate has married the niece of a leading NZ rap singer , the band is deceptikons. Savage is his name, but he is a lovely young bloke. He gives the boys hints from time to time, he also does remixes with American big name rappers, here is one with Akon. Not sure what lays ahead, but it keeps them off the streets.

[ I've checked for bad language, should not be any.]

Looks like another bris venue is gone, instead of seeing Hits and three other bands the cops and licensing mob decided that was the end. Hoping things get resolved soon. Not too many places about with their capacity and willingness to put on bands:mad:
