Hi Folks,
There are two weekends available at Lake Lyell:
Saturday 15 to Sunday 16 October
or
Saturday 22 to Sunday 23 October
Vote now! (Or abstain if you aren't going to attend).
This poll will be up for 2 weeks. The weekend with the most votes wins. There will then be a post in the "Upcoming Events" section where you can confirm your interest.
Cheers,
Rob

Don't think I can make it now, especially since one of those weekends there is a wedding I apparently have to attend ;)

OK folks - looks like the 15-16 October has won. I'll add an entry to the upcoming events section soon (after I get home from work) and point a link to it in this thread.
Thanks,

That's a pity, but as one of the few who voted for the other weekend I was expecting that.
I can't make that weekend as I have a rally in Canberra. The way this year's been so far though I'll probably be there. :(
For now I'll just have to be a maybe and will be able to confirm a week or two before.
Cheers,
Jon

Much closer the time I may give you a yell....
I'm thinking of being at Camden in September, in which case I wont be back up there a few weeks later.... but if I don't make Camden I'll see if I can join you.;)

I'm in now Rob.
Hopefully a good turnout, the last one at Lake Lyell had at least 25 vehicles.

RRS2 not allowed:(
We might have to start organising a D3/D4/RRS alumni weekend. Especially next year when the D5 (sorry, New Discovery) comes out.

That sounds like a plan. I had heard mention, in times past, of allowing other variants to attend. It was when numbers were not there, might have been the last one.

Is this a joke Sean? I would have thought a RRS2 that has air suspension/traction control/terrain response was well within the definition, particularly given how few we have on the forum anyway.
I'm not sure if I'll be able to come down this year (lack of holidays/new job) but if I do and your RRS is excluded you can ride shotgun with me. I may even let you drive a little bit just so you remember what you gave up.:p

It was more about the vehicles that were built the T5 platform. When responses slow to come in previous years, there was talking of letting other models join in the fun to make it a bigger affair.
Woud be shame if you couldn't make it - it is a big drive for you to get there so easy to understand if you wouldn't be able to make it. Thanks for the offer to ride shotgun - that would be fun. I was thinking of showing up anyway just to say g'day!:D

Yes the original concept back when I first came up with the idea of this weekend away was to restrict it to just D3/D4/RRS vehicles which worked extremely well, but after lots of chat in the lead up and post the second trip I decided that for the third trip it should be opened up to all late model Rangies. However I stopped organising the trip after year two because of work and it then went off in a different direction last year.
I had intended to get back involved for this years trip but again work and also moving house has meant I had to drop out again unfortunately.
It's up to those organising the trip now if they want to make it more open to other late model Range Rover models, but for those interested in going there is no harm in asking the question.

Just a reminder that the D3/D4/RR Lithgow weekend 4wd trip is on in two weeks time 15/16 October.
You can camp, like most do, at the camp ground on the side of Lake Lyall or just do day trips either Saturday or Sunday. These weekends away are great fun and are family friendly. Lots of great tracks up around Lithgow so no need to drive the same one twice even over two days.
Same thing with the camping, there is always a big communal fire at night right on the side of the Lake where everyone gets together for a quite drink and to tell tall tales of the days off roading activities. These trips are great fun and give Disco and Rangie owners a chance to get to know each other and learn more about their 4wd of choice.
Anyway if you want to be part of a fun weekend less than two hours drive from just about anywhere in Sydney why not let Rob who is organising the trip this year know by going to the link below.
