TD5 110 1999 - mantainance top-tips

Hi, Just last week I bought an awesome 1999 TD5 110.
Rultand Red, in amazing condition, unmodified and kept garaged with only 2 owners, neither of which took it off road.
Always wanted a Landy, now I got one. yeahhhhh
I am fairly handy but not that much experiences with engines and maintenance.
I wanted to ask the group what would be the top 5 tips for home maintenance to assure good running.

For example, the guy who sold it to me said on the TD5s that the Turbo column(?) can stick so once every few weeks he puts a drop of INOX (or WD40) on it.
Does anyone know of this and have a photo so I can easily identify where this is, so I can apply a couple of drops every 2-3 weeks.
What other top 5 (or 10) maintenance tips do people have for regular home maintenance.?

The plastic pipe that runs from the radiator to the expansion bottle becomes hard and brittle . It may have been replaced , if not I would recomend that you do it . It will fail , and you don't wont that to happen . It's quite an easy job to change . Don't try to bend it to see it is flexible because it will snap !!.. Jim ..

Got a photo of her mate? I too have a 99 Td5 Defender 110 in red :) Do you have full service history? Check for oil in the loom to the ecu! Check often. Check over all pipes and hoses, especially the hidden small oil cooler pipe behind the turbo under the heat shield. If ERG is still connected, its worth removing and cleaning the Map sensor. Check the turbo for any play. Do you know if the oil pump bolt has been replaced?? If it hasn't, it has the potential to undo and fall out destroying the timing chain as they did not originally come out with any thread lock on them.... What you want to add is a engine temperature watch dog as the factory temp guage will give you false readings.... I have owned my landy for 2 1/2 years and I am still finding dodge fixes and faults and its had 2 owners. How many k's has it done??

The guy I got it off was talking about the Turbo waste gate valve.
Apparently a common problem for it to get stuck best to lube it every few weeks to avoid this happening.
