They only read and reset codes, you can't change features or program with them.
Bit better though than the $15 blue tooth odb II readers that use your mobile phone.

It works well only on OBDII compliant ones, almost useless for Td5, eventually you can read/clear ABS related codes the rest is unreliable

my cousin in the uk has a disco 2 and he says reads 90% of the codes ,, even trans ,slabs abs , ace ,, will check it out when it gets here ,, Teriferma give a 90 day return so if it dont do what they say ???
they can have it back ,,,,,love paypal ,,,
had a trans fault the other day would be great to have had it so i didnt need to drive home in 3rd gear with the trailer on ,,,
think it will stay in the car for the code clear as dont want the nanocom stuffed rattling around in the glove box ,,,,

I was saying that to be able to read and remove the fault codes while out in the bush would be a must have , I cant imagine being stuck in a rocky valley and have the trans stuck in 3rd ,,,
Foe $100 its cheap security ,,, who wants to have a $600 nanocom in the glovebox getting beaten up ,,, and i dont have any more room on the window with GPS , Road Crash CAM , Reversing camera ,
also how many use a nanocom for more than reading and clearing codes ,,,
1% load a program to the ECU ?? then most only do it once ...
I beleive a lot of people have there self on how they need every flashy gadget ,,,
As i said i will do a review against a nanocom when it turns up ,
Will have to spend a few weeks editing my swearing on the video as i do keep some sketchie company ,,,,,,

Nup, no reading of reviews.
I'd just bought the Disco which pretty much straight away developed an ACE fault. Went to the local LR workshop to buy a reader to sort out the suspension problem, they sold me the i930. Meh - it doesn't do ACE.
It does read most other D2 error codes as advertised, pretty basic unit though.
Dash doesn't work with it plugged in and it killed the engine once as well. (all ok after ignition cycle)

The I930 runs common software ,,
The TF is Jag L/R only ,,, did you get the upgrade disks ,,, There is a website for the i930 that you can add slabs and ace ,,, give it a go ,,,, one day it may get you out of trouble
My biggest drama is going into Trans 3rd gear lock when 4x4ing ,,,, :D

it's one and the same tool.... read this https://www.landyzone.co.uk/land-rover/icarsoft-i930-on-td5.279411/ ... fact is that it's OBDII and this protocol can comunicate with the D2 but the codes or readings are not reliable, for what it can do you can find much cheaper versions of OBDII scanners

I know of a few forum members that have them permanently mounted on the dash so they can monitor their engines.
I was in a members disco 2 td5 the other day, and it had a nanacom, 2 gps units a UHF Radio etc etc mounted on the dash.

There are so many meth heads here we have 9 foot fences with barbed wire and cameras ,,,
we have had a dealer 8 houses down and he gets taken by the police then 2 days later the house next door starts cooking ???
I just cant be buggered removing everything from the dash every time i leave the car ,
the fairlane that is locked away has
dash cam (front and rear )
GPS
Phone holder
way to much crap on there for another one ,,and having plugged into the OBD2 port permanent ,,,
Na not for me ,,,,

If you are down this way drop in for coffee as with the junkies,
I do believe its every where now , some don`t look so they don't see ,,
if you have your eyes open you see it everywhere ,
with the 930 I'm very impressed i have had it a week or so ,
It clears all codes reads everything i can see and runs live data
Maf Map engine temp fuel temp gear position ect ect ,,
you can only have 4 live data on the screen at once ,,
the only thing i see it cant do is program keys or ECU maps ,,
will just buy a nanocom (original) for mapping ,
so far since finding the 2 dry joints in the fuse box i haven't had a fault code in 500+ k`s ,,,,,,
Fingers crossed

I bought one of these from China. $20.99 delivered on ebay , Maxiscan, it arrived a few days later.
It has a cheap smell ( The plastic has that cheap smell)
But it reads and reset codes. I bought it to get codes on a couple of other non Land rover vehicles.
Might be Better than nothing for some people who don't have $ for expensive diagnostic equipment. It will give you the codes.

I know it's in hindsight, but For things like that you should always pay the couple of bucks extra ( approx $1.25 per $100) on postage to insure it. They way you would have a claim on Aus post.

That's bull, when you post something at the post office you tell the person behind the counter you want to insure it, they take the small fee and Aus post will then insure it . The seller doesn't have do anything really except ask for it to be insured.
The seller should have packed it sufficiently to protect the item from damage. You can't send something in the mail and then say bad luck to the buyer and say it's not his responsibility. The seller should take reasonable steps to package it correctly.
We have never told a customer bad luck if something arrived damaged that we posted.
That's like a seller sending a light bulb in a satchel and when it arrives at the other end it is broken and then saying it's not their problem.
You have to remember also your mail goes through the postal system along with other items. Items like 18 kg brake rotors etc, it doesn't take much for a 18 kg brake rotor to crush a little light bulb if it wasn't packaged correctly.
What did the seller have to say about it?

Might be worth putting a claim in with Aussie Post. About a year ago I had a parcel arrive from Alaska damaged and taped up with some contents missing. It wasn't insured, but I put a claim in anyway and Aust Post reimbursed part of the missing item's cost. It's capped reasonably low as I recall ($100?) For uninsured parcels, but it still covered the majority of it in my case and the sender sent a replacement gratis in the meantime. So I spent that and a lot more with them as a thank you.
Having said that, it sounds like in your case it was improperly packed by the sender and therfore the onus is on them in the first instance to rectify the issue.
Doesn't hurt to ask :) Don't just assume you've done your dosh until you let them know and see what they'll do about it.
Good luck!

Sent from my SM-G900I using AULRO mobile appWe have tried with Aus post, but unless it is insured they do not take responsibility.
We do how hold them to account or other matters and they compensate us.
As said it doesn't hurt to ask though. Any do it is a timely manner the longer you leave it these slimmer the chances. Just go to their web site, navigate to the contact us link.
But firstly put it back on the sender, did you pay via paypal, then there's your first recourse.
