Hi everyone,
I've been at sea for ages so offline. Just thought I'd let everyone know about my experience with the key fobs.
When I purchased my Disco 4 ( Aus model 2010 HSE 3.0ltr ) it only had one key. After being shocked when the dealer quoted the cost to get a spare I started doing some research. I was already looking at the GAP Diagnostics Bluetooth unit and saw that you can program keys. So after some digging I found that our ( AUS & NZ ) key fobs are 434mHz. On EBay I found some keys. I really wanted the new style slimmer key because the older one I found uncomfortable in the pocket. Land Rover dealer kept saying those wouldn't work. I decided to take a punt and got one of each. I am happy to say it works no problem. I did not cut the key blank yet and was debating wether I would actually find a local place that could do it or just get the cut blank from UK. Not really worried about that yet. But I'm stoked the slim ones work.
Here is a link to the style ( For Land Rover Range Rover Sport Central Locking Smart Key Fob 434MHz | eBay (http://www.ebay.com/itm/FOR-LAND-ROVER-RANGE-ROVER-SPORT-CENTRAL-LOCKING-SMART-KEY-FOB-434mhz-/191599714582?hash=item2c9c3ba116:g:HowAAOSwsLtVeZp X&vxp=mtr) )

How does the programming work with the iid tool? Does anyone know if it can also be done with the nanocom evolution?

As long as you don't have 3 keys already programmed.
Direct from Blackbox:
"For the Discovery 4 models the Nanocom is not able to remove old keys yet, this function might be added in the future.
As it it, you can only learn a third new key."
Unfortunately no good for me as i have one missing key, one current one and 2 new ones i want to add so the old one needs to go.
Soo looking for a different type/brand of iid. Some do delete..

I'm not familiar with the Nanocom but the Gap Diagnostics tool allows for the deletion of keys as well as programming. I was a bit nervous at first but it just worked and all made sense how it was explained in the manual. One tip would be have the user manual pdf open on iPad or Laptop when doing because you won't have easy access for referral when using the app with the iPhone. But when I did it I read a couple times and actually didn't have to stop midway. Like I said it's well explained and intuitive.

As for the blank,it is the same as many Ford blanks so you should find someone local that can cut it.

Always pays to read the manual [emoji41]
Gaps documentation tells you all about its capabilities.

Oh yeh had no doubt it would programme a d4 key fob, wasn't so sure about these range rover ones though...
Good advice though seeing as i just got it today and haven't read the manual, of course...

Just did one of these keys with the Nanocom. Painless experience and now i have a smaller less falling apart key fob. :)

Just confirming the ebay link on the OP is a good one for a replacement key,all buttons work...not sure if it holds a key behind the chrome strip? There is an arrow on key ring end....but which way it opens? My new group buy IID tool does not want to communicate with with a Android 4.4 phone so used a Windows tablet only basic controls.Read the manual but unable to master it,so used the Nanocom Evo,programmed the new key with two button presses[unlock &lock]All good.

Yep you have to buy the blank key seperate for this particular one but they do fit inside. The blanks are also on ebay.
