Unfortunately yesterday i found about 3lt of water on the passenger side of my '06 D3. I read up on known issues and have figured it out to be the drain pipe for the sunroof. All the solutions I read involve replacing perished parts and keeping it clean in the future. Getting access to the 90' grommet that has failed is pretty time consuming and not much fun.
Has anyone tried fixing the design issue to make a preminate solution? I removed the scuttle and can see the perfect spot to drill a hole and run the drain pipe through at a much higher position. It's the area that the windscreen drains off anyway, so I can't see it being an issue further down the line so long as it's all sealed up with a grommet and a bit of silicone.
Your thoughts?
