Ready for my first renewal for a 2015 Defender 110.
Current quote is $680 for market price, using Budget direct in Melbourne.

But what is market price?
Should I better insure for agreed value?
Ive got heaps of add on's, i.e. Winch, bullbar, roof rack, tow bar, side steps......

In addition, a little bit wary about cover whilst "offroad".

Any advice appreciated.

Contact DGA they'll be one of the few that will cover everything.

I've just gone through this.
I was also with budget for the first 2 years of my Defender's life (although that was over $800/yr on a 14MY also in Melbourne so you were doing well!).

I rang/emailed/filled out online requests with a few places and only club4x4 and DGA ever got back to me.

After being told redbook valued my 110 at about $40k and then having exactly the same conversation about 'market value' and emailing them a link to a list of 14MY 110s on carsales all asking over $50k, only club4x4 agreed to up the value of my 110. Still not up to the $50k mark, but did include over $10ks worth of accessories on top of the value of the car.
Ended up being about $1100, but cover includes anywhere you're legally entitled to be (track or no track) and recovery from anywhere.

Insurance is not an area in which to skimp, IMO.
When you need it, you will be glad that you chose a premium policy.
If you have a bunch of accessories and you cannot choose your agreed value, then go to another insurer.
DGA did it for me.

Common thread seems to be DGA. Funny I never heard of them before.
Anyway, I have sent off a request for quote to them.

I ended up with Shannons as the only ones willing to insure me for true value. As a bonus (sadly it's a bonus now days) is they will recover and repair from any gazetted road or track, or any track that you are legally allowed to be in and found on a registered mapping service like HEMA.

Cost about $80 more than nearest quote, but that bit about recover and repair even single vehicle accidents won me over
