Hi all, I am thinking of buying a new 2016 TDV6 D4.
I am not sure whether to go with the Graphite option or standard??
Both have 19 inch wheels but the Graphite option has a grey wheel and trims. (looks great and is about $1500 extra).
If I went the Graphite option, I am sought of stuck with nice 19 inch rims or I could go the standard TDV6 and replace the 19 inch alloys with a set of GOE 18 inch rims at a cost of approx. $600 per rim plus new tyres............x 5..........= $4500:(

What are the 19inch tyres like off road these days?
I do a lot of sand/beach driving and heard they dig in.
I have a D3 ATM and that goes well with 18's once I let the tyres down to about 25psi.
What is the best pressure for the 19 inch tyres in the sand?
Is there a big difference in sand compared to an 18 inch tyre?
I believe there are a lot more tyre options now in 19 inch and prices are not too bad?

Thanks in advance
Darren

I just fitted GOE wheels to mine.19" tyres in soft WA beach sand dont go well.
The tyre size is the problem, and at 15psi they look almost flat.
There are slightly better tyre options in 20"($$$$$$$) over 19".
See how much to buy it with no wheels and supply GOE wheels/tyres.Perhaps Gordon should offer this though his good mates at Southern Land Rover:):):):):):).

Thanks LandyAndy.
Yeah, that would be my preference for sure to get the car with 18's.........
Not sure how I would go though?? Can't hurt to ask.
Food for thought.........
What 18 inch tyres did you go for?

Thanks

Also like the grey and graphite pack........
Got some thinking to do???
Thanks for your advice.

You also get powerfold mirrors with the tdv6 graphite, something that the sales guy didn't even know! Mines 3 weeks old now! Loving the white and graphite combo. For me the GOEs are down the line as I'm loving the look of the rims as they are.

Whatever you decide you'll be pleased. Good luck with the purchase!

I've had no problems on 20's - though haven't been on the notorious soft WA sand

If you know how to use the car's settings, avoid wheel spin, aren't driving extensive distances at speed, start at 16psi and you should be fine on 19". Once I learnt how to drive the car on sand, I had no problems at Stockton which has some very soft sections.
