Did you leave a note for the owner to get in contact with you, or an AULRO calling card ?

You bloody well should have done...

I did better than that....it was parked with a bunch of other other vehicles with for sale signs..and there was a mobile phone number on display on the dash. This I carefully wrote down on a piece of paper ......which went through the washing machine last night   style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif

Well it looks like you're in for another drive, then.

How much did they want for it, and is it 6x6 or just a third lazy axle ?

No price just a number. Lazy axle. Looks like it started out as a 109" series 111 Wagon.

I actually like it, of course the paint job would have to go, but as said above a tidy up and she would be a good truck. Matt

I dunno, I kinda like the paint job. Sort of an aussie dreamtime camo.

Probably hides a thousand sins, too.

Dot painting vehicles isn't new. One of the BMW art series vehicles was painted by Michael Jagamara Nelson:

It is a LR frigged about with to the point that Solihull wouldn't recognise it as one of its own....so much character and it would be interesting to trace it's history.

Beauty might be in the eye of the beholder but I think that the total thing say's "Land Rover" and what it inspires people to do with them. Regardless of LR's original design intent they are a great and robust platform for self expression and having some fun. style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif

BTW Matt I spotted this on the way to Bathurst for business on Tuesday and whilst travelling on the GWH just west of Lithgow there was a familiar green Disco with red decals on the windscreen driving the other way. I flashed my lights and then remembered that I was driving a commodore

Probably had a few variations of them. My grandads was definatly a Hunter. Safari probably was the upmarket model???
