Procomp Shocks ????

Hi All,

Any opinions on Procomp shocks especially the ES 9000s are they any good for Landys?

ive got the es9000's in the front and i love em!
put it this way they are better than the OME nitro's in the rear.

im buying a rear set soon.

Front procomps may be OK but I have seen rear sets with the top eye ripped apart.
Apparently they are quite week in the top eye weld and the eye appears to be made of strap bent round not thick wall tube, as the ones I have seen have peeled back the eye from the weld.
They are quite cheap shocks in the USA.

heard the same thing about the top eye on the rear shocks - looking at a new pair I can see why they would fail, dont think these were planned to be on a Rangie / Disco

had mine on my shorty for a while now (about 2yrs) and they have been real good... for what it is worth ...

I'm a bit concerned with these American shocks, I had a set of Rancho RS9000's on my 93 Rangie and broke all 4 of them within 6 months 8O I also found them to be too soft evebn when I adjusted them to the moderate setting (ht e hard setting was too hard, may as well drive with no suspension) and weak at the pin end like others have mentioned here.

Also I don't know why people knock the OME shocks, I have these on Thomas and they're been real good. The valving is a bit harder than I like but the trade-off is that they perform well in all situations on-road and off-road. They're Aussie made and offer good warranty plus if you know how to haggle you can get them cheap. They don't offer the length that pro-Comps do but at the end of the day I want something that is reliable and will last not the other way round.

But if you have the money, go Koni or Bilstein you can't go wrong with either. Had Konis on my past Rangie bar the 93 and Thomas, never had any problems.

We've broken Bilstien too - in the same area. So not just porocomp that do it.

From what I've seen / heard they sound good.

the es9000 are bigger in body and compairing them to the nitro
chargers i have, there welds are on par with any factory shock.

on our last trip out with redback for ace's V when we got back to camp
we were looking for a rattle under baz's disco. i grabbed one of
his front billys and i dam neer burnt my fingers off! the back were the
same. i went to my disco, nothing stone cold front and rear.

why?? dont know.
