OK, I just ordered 5 GOE 18" black rims for the D4.
Can anybody point me to somewhere I can get black wheel nuts and centre caps. I have the feeling that black car with black wheels will look silly with chrome bits.
Cheers
Mike

Gordon will be after you Ron. :D
Mike, the cheapest I found when I was looking around a couple of weeks ago was on ebay. About $150 for a set of wheel nuts and $30ish for the black centre caps.

The normal nuts with the black centres look great IMO. I got genuine black caps from Fleebay for about $35. This is how mine look with the caps and standard nuts

Nice. Nicely set off by silver car. Just think black with black car, maybe even get black grille.
Did I say that? I need to get off road and get some pin stripes so that I don't care so much! :D;):p

....resisted the urge so far to do the whole black grills and vents as that will only lead to black badges and door handles, closely followed by black roof rails!
Seeing as I got the rims painted for nix... its been cheap so far :D

Yep, those were the ones Mike.
I was intrigued as to why it was a set of 23, rather than 20, but at least if they are solid ones then you won't get the classic "swollen nuts" problem.

Thanks Dave,
I am thinking that they must be assuming Rear Wheel Carrier. That has three nuts to hold the spare.

Luke.
Recently I called in on an association 4WD camp out in Albany. There were 3 white D4s there,2 with the grey(albeit different shades) and 1 with the black. The black wheels didnt look as good, they wernt too glossy, the grey matches the plastic trim better I thought.I should have taken a pic!!!!

I initially thought the silver wheel nuts wouldn't look any good with dark wheels. I think they look good.

Ah Matt black aka brake dust black.. Not too different to black cars, they never look great unless they are clean. But when they are..

When they are on I will post pics. I think on the black D4 they will look pretty good.
I agree with Andrew, glossy black wheels on white fridge not great.

Since fitting my GOE rims there is lots less brake dust on the wheels. The dust now is on the panels and rear door, significantly worse.

I have never worried about cleanliness of my cars, but I do prefer red dust to any other blemishes.
