Spotted on another forum.......well priced and one of the better designs going around.

All Aussie made (Aussie steel) employing Aussies......

I tempted to buy one, well I was going to design and make my own but at $80 it's not worth the effort.....

anybody else interested?? If there is enough interest I might send him the link to this thread.

OK. The one I saw was in a camping store in Echuca. I thought it looked good but was about $100+. It looked identical very, very similar.

Having had a look around the the 'net, there are, as you say, a lot of them. Most are much more expensive than this blokes!

G'day everyone,
I am making and selling these through my work.
I work for a manufacturing company for the Automotive industry (which is in the throes of closing down) and thought that this may help generate sales and keep someone employed.
I have over 300 hours of burn time on my original fire pit over 3+ years and it still works great with easy assembly and disassembly and no coals on the ground. I cook on it most weekends either with a hot plate, skewers or camp oven.
I have no financial interest.
Assembled size is 600 x 300 x 300.
Flat packed size is 600 x 300 x 50.
Weight is 11.5 kg
Postage at cost or pick up from Reservoir in Melbourne is available.

Cheers

Rob

If Sydneysiders want to collect them from me, I'm happy to bring some back. There's very little saving in postage between Sydney and, say, Brisbane cf. Reservoir to Brisbane so it wouldn't be worth the effort bring them here to post (assuming the manufacturer doesn't load the postage costs).

I know a bloke at Sunbury who might be able to deliver them from Sunbury to Wombat.

Just a thought. If it helps,
I can send a half pallet to Brisbane for around $140
If there are say 10 units on it, that's only $14 each extra. The more on it the lower it gets.
20=$7 etc
I can pick them up from Sunbury when I get mine.
Only condition is there has to be a forklift at the receiving end.

A half pallet is even better. Ean Austral had a shipment sent down from Darwin to me on a half pallet. The L322 is just wide enough for a pallet. The fork lift put it on the tailgate and I slid it in along the Unistrut runners I have on each side.

Ring around. Most freight companies charge by the pallet space, and it can be $290 + GST. So, get as many on the pallet as you can. Usually a std pallet space can be up to 1200 high, and 1 tonne in weight. Don't overhang the pallet and get it wrapped.
Apologies if you already know this. I'm just sorry this didn't come up a month ago. I would have taken them up and maybe scored one as payment:(

Well, after a few false starts and bad weather, I type this with my toes toasting beside a great little bbq!
I don't recon that I could mark out the pattern in 2 hours, let alone drill, bend and finish it in a whole day of stuffing around in the shed.
In short; just buy one! or better yet a couple like I did.
These are a steal at $80!!. Easily worth $130.
You can spend heaps more money on a micro backpacking stove (I have) that will burn through in 6 or 8 outings or this beauty that will last ages.
Many thumbs up to the maker and designers, it fits together easily and securely and has great ventilation and access for all types of cooking options.

G'day everyone,
Have been out of action for a while but all good and will be back at work on 28th, where I'll make up another batch of fire pits. I will reply to all pm's over the next week or so.
