Hi All.
D4 MY11. I've noticed these last few rather cold mornings a snowflake symbol appears on the dash when the temp is about 4 degrees or lower. Does anyone know if the car is doing anything differently from normal, while this symbol is on? It turns off as it gets warmer.
Cheers
John

It's warning you of potential ice on road.
It's not engine temp related.

I don't know for sure but I had an idea that most Euro cars start a bit of demisting, mirror warming etc when it gets cold enough

At least it's just a symbol on the dash. In my (now my daughter's) Golf, it would bong at you. Driving along early one morning, minding my own business, then BONG....it frightened the **** out of me, and I nearly put the damned thing in the hedge.

Haahahaha ............... yes - my young bloke has recently discovered the same in his Amarok. http://www.jonrb.com/emoticons/laugh.gif
He has the gear to be able to get in and change computer settings fortunately, and has been able turn off the BONG - so now he just gets the symbol on the dash.

I've got the kit as well now. Am I going to turn that off for my daughter? Hell no! :lol2:

I recently put all my gear on and went outside and started my Suzuki motorbike, looked at the gauges and the orange snowflake symbol was lit. Turned the bike off went back into the house and changed my clothes. Went back outside with landrover keys in hand, driving my D4 in that sort of temperature and possible ice on road conditions does not worry me at all, but on a motorbike no way. Horses for courses and the D4 is definately the correct horse in those conditions!

Some sort of hoist or crane should do the trick.
