Hey guys
Is it normal for a D4 that my fuel level got all the way down to a range of 22km to go before the amber low fuel light came on?
Every car I have ever owned and specifically my land landrover (Fl2) the light came on with 100km to go, if I wasn't in Sydney at the time this could be a real issue.
Any idea how to recalibrate it?

Mine comes on at about 8l left so depending on my ave fuel consumption my range varies but it's usually around 80km - so working on that theory your ave consumption must be around 40l /100km - you may need to change your driving style [emoji13]
Probably worth looking into it.

The manual should tell you what litres should remain when the light comes on. I would guess it's more a case of the distance to empty is incorrect rather than you only had 3 ltrs left in the tank.
How much fuel did you put in to full ? This should give you a reasonable idea of how much was left in the tank.
Cheers Ean

I've had this depending on what angle the vehicle has been sitting at with a low fuel volume.

Hahaha!!!
Interestingly I've had the opposite issue - was once of the first things I used the GAP tool to sort. Passenger side always say marginally low...

How many litres is the 2011 D4 tank?

RTFM [emoji48] or Google. [emoji56]
For the record it's 82 litres. Not exactly late [emoji106]

Sorry gents, I was about to edit my message after I found it on google..
Not late but incorrect estimate for remaining kms then. Running average of 13/100 atm.

It doesn't use the running average on its calcs - the fuel light has its own sensor - so will come on at 10l
The DTE is a rolling calculation based on a very short amount of data - so a quick blast can shorten DTE significantly.
I've left town on a drive where my DTE was higher 100km later than it was when I left...

Not grumpy.
Just pointing out - all the power of the Internet in the palm of people's hands and they ask a question rather than do the time honoured tradition of 'research' (In modern terms often referred to as googling [emoji6] )
It's a good skill to search for info first and ask if unable to achieve an answer..
Imagine how much Dave would save on bandwidth [emoji41]
Nothing personal at the Poster of the question [emoji3]

Or switch to sand mode and watch the dte drop [emoji79]

I've been in a similar situation - slightly nose down in a forecourt waiting to get to the bowser my DTE clicked to 1km...
I'm not too bothered. My gauge hasn't been accurate since crushing the tank 3 years ago..
