I was having a look under the L322 (2003) today and noted the rear lower front control arm bushes looked odd. I searched the forum but couldn't find any pix.

They look like the rubber has debonded from the centre of the bush. Is this the normal appearance? Both sides are the same.

Same as mine have been since I got it at 18K kms. They have a bump-stop for more severe knocks.

I had the same thought after looking at mine. However, it seems to be normal.

Thanks chaps. I thought I might need to get them fixed before Wombat.

I have replaced mine twice....
they seem to tear pretty quick.
they are easy to get out if u have a press. My suggestion, take the whole arm out and take it to a shop and get them to change the actual bush. the hub mounted ball joints can be a pain, but remove the bolt from the buggered bush and let it hang down freely before trying to bash the ball joint out.

I made up a press unit out of an old pipe bender that did the trick, but was a bugger to not damage the lip of the bush

Interesting how different vehicles wear diffrent parts. The front of mine is still fine - and roadworthy (passed on Friday) but I've had to do everything in the back end which were all pretty much shagged. Squeaks, rattles and clunks now all gone after the rebuid. Not a difficult job, but a fair bit of work getting all the control arms out. Didn't have any issues removing or installing them with a press.

Ron, the bushes look like that new, so nothing to worry about there.
