Hey guys,

I'm not to sure of the forum rules in regards to this sort of thing so mods if I'm out of line, please accept my apologizes and just let me know.

We have started a little group on Facebook for D4 owners in south east QLD, would love any of you guys that are on here to come join in and help build the little community. it would never come to close to being anything like this forum but is good place to chat casually about our obsession :D

We also have penciled in a little drive for next month from woodford to kenilworth, so I'd love to meet some more discos and their owners;)

again, sorry mods if this sort of post/thread isnt allowed.

chat soon
Paul

I left the AULRO facebook group, because I was just sick of the constant Defender and Series owners putting down anything after the D1, when they had never even say in one, let alone driven one off road. I just figured if I wanted to read how my D4 is for shopping duties only (from people who have never tried one), I would join a Nissan or Toyota group.

In here I think the banter goes either way......there will always be your serial offenders that won't give a bit.

I don't have a D3/4 or Facebook so you're safe with me.

Banter is fine, I have no issues with that, it was just the immature and flat out insulting way they behaved that turned me off that group - I have found many other ones to be fine, with only the occasional person referring to a RRS/D4 as an "embarrassment to the badge" or "not a real LR".

i have a defender but i reckon a D3/4 is a way better vehicle in many ways.....

Sorry, just had to quote you on this as it is rare to see an open minded defender owner :p

Definitely not mate, I think there is plenty of room for both. This is just a group for local guys to chat, share ideas and hopefully meet up for regular drives.

County/Perentie/Defender/Puma owners have very strong opinions about the virtues of their vehicles relative to other LR models and all other makes, until there physical ability to tolerate long drives decreases to a point where they secretly go off to test drive something that's quiet, comfortable, has working air con, lots of power/torque, auto, steers straight without constant correction and is also off-road capable. Then the virtues seem more nostalgic. This is based on a comprehensive study of one person over several years. Me. I still have a beard. But these days only get single digit waves.

I still own one, just don't drive it.
