Ive just noticed over the last couple of days the rear drivers side door of my 2008 130 twin cab doesn't lock when you use the key fob to lock it or unlock.
Its not a huge issue on the grand scheme of things but I'm.....
Just hoping to get some advice or information as to what it might be and is it a relatively easy fix.....
Thanks in advance

I'm told the issue is that as the door opens and shuts a wire or two break in the harness between the pillar and door.
There is a short replacement loom available that just plugs in at each end.
I'll know more when I look at mine as my LHR door started to do the same thing after our last trip.

Yep had the exact same issue with the exact same door on the exact same vehicle....broken wire in the harness that goes from the B-pillar into the door. It'll short out and blow a fuse too if you leave it. A little bit of wire, some solder and heat shrink will sort it out.

Mine went in the same door, the wires had melted together and as well as the other problems described mine also caused issues with the alarm system and locking the car down.
As suggested just look at the B pillar and the wires go through some plastic tube into the door, it was in there that they melted and kept shorting out.

....same thing has happened to me on each rear door.
The B-pillar is the pillar between the front and rear door. If you open the rear door that doesn't lock/unlock, and look on the front edge of the door you will notice a corrugated, black, rubber sleeve. If you pull the sleeve back from either side, you should find your broken/crimped piece of wire.
Regarding the replacement harness, not sure. I have always used a replacement piece of wire, solder, and heat shrink.
Hope this helps,

I added a piece of wire and made each a bit longer, then heat shrink over the joins.
Remember to run the wire through the sleeve before soldering as once you join it you won't get the connector through the sleeve.
There are 2 connectors you can unplug to assist you 1 in the B pillar (which can be reached from beside the front seat) and the other in the door (accessible when you remove the door card).

The pillars (body uprights) on a vehicle are given letter designations starting from the front. The one at the side of the windscreen /front of the front door is the A pillar, between the doors on a 4 door vehicle is the B-pillar, etc.
I haven't seen the replacement harness but no doubt someone is making a good buck out of it. Soldering two wires together would have to be one of the simplest repair tasks.

It's most likely the pink wire has been severed. Just splice in slightly thicker wire and it should be OK. Had this happen to me with one door to be followed by the other rear door a week or two after. The repairs lasted quite long but eventually had to be redone about three weeks ago. No biggie.

I'm going to do this job myself but I just wanted check a few things first do I need to disconnect the battery, and in taking the door panel off I couldn't seem to locate any screws or are they on clips and a little perswstion required....
Also will the break be something that can be seen with the eye or do I need to get some sort of electrical tester....?
Thanks

I didn't bother disconnecting the battery as you can disconnect the wire in the B pillar or at worse pull the fuse under the drivers seat for the central locking.
The door is held on by clips be gentle as they will break off the door card, I glued mine back on with some epoxy. The window winder is the fun bit as you will need to lever off a clip that holds the winder on, just don't let it go flying off. I did reset my winders so they were facing downwards when the window was closed so that they didn't fall down when on corrugated roads anymore.
When you disconnect both ends you may want to check it with a meter, you may be able to see it with you eye but it will depend on the problem.
