High-speed rail in south-east Queensland could be legacy of potential 2028 Olympics - Sport - ABC News (Australian Broadcasting Corporation) (http://www.abc.net.au/news/2016-07-27/brisbane-2028-olympics-feasibility-report-to-be-released/7663822'section=sport)
I see the feasibility for an Olympics in SE Qld in 2028 proposes a high-speed rail link between Brisbane and the Gold and Sunshine coasts, with a 45 minute travel time.
What a great idea! This would be a terrific legacy for the people of the region to get from hosting an Olympics.
If the proposed Brisbane-Sydney-Melbourne high speed rail link ever gets some political traction the whole lot could revolutionize East Coast travel.
We are long overdue for some significant investment in rail in this country.
