P0302 - cyl 2 misfire

Hey gang, a while back i noticed that sometimes when i syart the 110 - its a little bit more shaky. Seemed to be ok when warm tho. Today when i started it it was shakier than normal - like almost misfire sounding. I looked bsck snd i was getting some white smoke from the exhaust. Not billowing out but defs there. Almost like unburnt diesel. Shut the car off and turned it on again - cycled key a few times just to makw sure plugs were warm. Still shaky at idle but ok when driving. When you come yo a stop its still a bit shaky at idle and when idling thats when i get the p0302 code. It doesnt come on when im driving. But obviously once on it gets logged on my ultra gauge till i silence it that said it only comes up on the pending code. Has not briught a cel up yet. Anyone experienced the same thing yet?? Gonna book it into dealers this week hopefully.

Cycle key as much as you like it doesn't re-glow the plugs!!!! (ECU not timer controlled)

People need to also realise the CEL is triggered by 254 fault events ..

Update - had to move car from parking his morning - drove up a hill - slight miss but drove ok. Motor knocked and is now dead lol.

Yeah was talking to doug and he said same symptoms lol. I sure hope not!! Had it towed to trivett. Out of warranty now but i rang LRA and they towed it for me and gave me a hire car. So no complaints really. Im guessing it might be injectors

only 115k on mine. I tohught injectors but you can hear it knock even when you just cranked it so I was a bit worried.

75k on mine..slight knock, then a vibration then no power, and a whole lot of oil in the engine bay and running like it was a 2 cylinder.. 3 months out of warrantee and land rover supplied and installed a brand new motor..
Shouldn't have happened but Restored my faith in their backup and Lennocks service was top class.

They reckon its an injector stuck open. But will only find out wgen they pull it off

Yep. injector stuck open. originally before they diagnosed the were doing the 'oh we don tthink its warranty etc'

then last friday was all 'oh we hope you are doing well we just want you to know we will put through a goodwill claim. unjector 4 was stuck open and 2 and 3 were leaking'

Might ge ta compression test done as the last time I saw a puma with an injector stuck open it had melted the pistons.

They can also hydraulic lock and bend a conrod in extreme circumstances. ..

injectors replaed. still running bad.(apparently. I have not seen it) was told 'will call you back tomorrow' last week.

then I said Im just trying to see if I should expect at a certain time. SA joked he can send me a photo of it if I miss is that much.

over a month with no defender now. I'm dead inside lol

my wife called land rover upset lol they said its out of warranty bu tthey are helping us. she lost it and went off at them about how its not acceptable to have a dead car with 100km anywy. she said if we wanted th erav 4 hire car we were given we would have bought a rav 4 originally lol.


after 2 weeks of no pdate they have an update finally. they have NFI what it is. lol still running rough. they've pulled the fuel tank out to replace fuel cause they reckon its bad fuel (doubt it) then will fill tomorrow and try. more waiting. hooray.
