Hi all,
I recently fitted a pair of LED driving lamps and I'm impressed with the light output.
So now I'm looking at headlamp Inserts. Does anyone have any input on these? What are others using, the incredibly expensive brand ones or the eBay types. And, is there a difference?
The spots I bought are eBay jobs and for what they cost I could buy 10 sets against one set of ARBs or similar.
Thanks all.

I have them in my 130. I bought mine off westar trucks in Melbourne. Trucklite is the brand I purchased and it has the current "e13" adr approval so you can't get done for being unroadworthy. When you adjust them though they are completely different to a conventional light, you need to almost have them set completely flat on the horizontal axis. Cost $187 each plus tax at trade price. I've had them in for about 6 months and absolutely love them. The only downside is you can't see a thing in fog. Since then I've recessed some fog lights into the bullbar main rail.

Trying not to pick a fight but I cant help myself.
Here I go.
First question.
1. What do you want from driving lights?
If the answer is, "I want to have really bright lights that illuminate everything and make it look like daylight...."
Fair enough, buy led's
So Question 2.
2. I want to see Cows, roos, etc, so as to protect me from hitting them...
Dont buy led's

Ok. Fists up! Although not sure why.
Interesting what you say. I'm not sure what you mean though.
I had IPFs on the car. They were fitted by the previous owner and originally had 100 watt bulbs in them. I up graded them to 130 watt bulbs and thought they were ok (ish) but I don't think you could see down the road as well as you can with the LEDs. As far as seeing animals, or anything for that matter I feel the LEDs give a better, safer light.
And as the headlamps are woeful and I found I would use the spots when ever possible to see more, and thus be safer I thought LED headlamps would be brighter.
Over to you blue leader.

Ok karlz, here we go!!!
Nah, just confused mate. If leds are gonna make it look like daylight, I'm gonna see the cows, aren't I!? I have a big led light bar and yeah, it lights up everything but not to any great distance so if I'm travelling at speed at night, yeah I suppose a stray cow, especially a matt black bastard, might not be seen until its too late. So, are you suggesting something else in the headlights?
cheers gerald
