Is it possible to remove the Kaymar bar and go back to stock. Not sure if anything cut during the install.
It would mean sourcing a new bumper bar as well, I am not sure where but I am sure you can.

Is it that bad?
Is it a dual wheel carrier type or just the bar?

No it is good . I even have the mudflaps and really like it
The wheel carrier is easy to use.
The issue and why I am thinking of it is the weight.
If am getting a new van and the toll ball weight is around 270kg so am a bit concerned over exceeding the back axle weight and gvm.
I am just looking at options.

Hey Richard
You must spend many sleepless hours thinking about stuff.
Have you tried sleeping pills?

I fitted my kaymar bar myself. There should be no reason why you can't remove it. If you have a copy of the installation instructions you should be able to work it out. I still have my original rear bar (D3). PM me if you decide to go ahead and are interested.

Thanks for that
I have a d4 not sure if any difference.
But at the moment it is only a possibility if I have to.

Ya not wrong.
I do have some sleeping pills at home. I have never taken them. May be it is time.
Just considering options. Doing this may be better than having an aux tank I can't use😆😂😴

Just to stress you even more..
Ball weight on the plate is almost never the ball weight when it's loaded. [emoji48][emoji41][emoji12]

I use Milenco ball weight scales. No guessing. Allows you to shift weight around inside the van or in the case of a boat move the winch post or axles to get the loading right. For eg. I wasn't happy with the way my boat towed at 120kg nose weight on the tandem. Changed where boat sat and now 175kg nose weight and tows beautifully. Cheers

I purchased a one month old Kaymar bar from Barry (Redback) a while ago and it didn't come with the corner posts that go up under the tail lights, when I ordered them from Kaymar they wanted to know if it was for a 3 or 4 because they are different. So I'm guessing a bar for a 4 won't fit a 3 and vice versa, for anyone looking at buying a second hand one might be best to check with Kaymar first to see if they are interchangeable between models.
Not sure why I bought it actually after all the hassle buying the new corner posts which for some reason took ages and cost $400 I decided not to fit the bloody thing so it now sits on the floor in the garage taking up space. ...

One of those would be very useful.
At the moment I am concentrating on the car as I do not have the van yet. Pity there is not something for the car other than weigh bridges.
The van calculated ball weight is coming in at around 260kg if I leave the bikes at home.
When you factor in that this weight is on the tow ball itself there is close to an additional 400kg extra load on the rear axle. When you add it all up there is not a lot of spare capacity.
I must have something wrong as I can't see how you can tow anything at the moment :).
