Cargo Barrier Fitment Kit

Hi all,
I have 'acquired' a Milford cargo barrier for my D2 but not the installation kit.
I've yet to contact Milford who I assume will have them, but upon perusing the installation instructions and parts list, I had to ask myself: What's special about the installation kit?
Looking at this here set of instructions

I can't see anything I couldn't substitute or manufacture.
Am I missing something or a fool for trying?
I only intend to mount in the rear position and was going to ensure (by modification or otherwise) that I could remove or undo it from the passenger cabin for when the rear door lock buggers up!
Instructions are one thing, experience is another! I have searched the fora for wise advice or a step by step guide by someone before me but to no avail. I know they're out there.

Mounting kits are available for about $50 from a place in Melbourne , i was missing some bits from the kit i got 2nd hand so made some myself.

I recently ordered one through my local OL, genuine Milford fitting kit. Roughly $200 :twisted:
Milford also insist that there's an official sticker stating that as it's not a new barrier they're not responsible for it, blah blah blah.
I think there's something about the concertina points on the mount acting like crush cans?

I purchased kit from Milford dealer in Adelaide last month and from memory it was about $120. Fitted only the forward points, not interested in the rear ones. Will have a look tomorrow whats left in the bag if your interested.

Having looked at my barrier, it's got half the stuff on it, so you're welcome to some stuff from my kit too if it's left over :p

I wish I had those instructions when I built my own cage. It was interesting trying to locate the "bolt" hole behind the upper panel.
My barrier is made from 25mm square and i made up a bracket that bolted under the tie down point, and then my barrier legs bolted to that, upper mount same location rear wards as the Milford.
Not hard to make your own brackets to fit.
