Others will know more but its got an ACEA e7 rating, which is a lot higher / better than the required b2. ( I believe that B is becoming obsolete? ) Synthetic - tick. B2 or greater - tick. Other stuff - others to comment.

Penrite HPR Diesel5 (5w-40)

Diesel 5 is only a semi synthetic oil. Synthetic is more stable from new to old. I use Penrite 5W-40 full synthetic.

that represents about $3 difference per litre but the delvac out performs on the spec side, worth the extra if bought in bulk.

The other Penrite option is Enviro+ 10w40 which is a fully synthetic extended life ACEA E9 diesel oil, as recommend by Rick130. Worth the extra $? maybe not for a TD5 with oil changes every 15k km vs a prime mover.

Ok went for the Delvac 1 at the price and spec it out performs all plus the local supplier wanted $470 where as lowes did it for $308 landed here in Perth. Would it unreasonable to extend the service interval to 15k.

I use on customers vehicles that are NON DPF equipped....

Penrite HPR DIESEL 5 5W40 Semi Synthetic. with very good results.

Do a search or look through my previous posts, there is lots n lots of info on this question with regards to oils, synthetic, semi synthetics etc etc etc most is related to Defender TDCi, but very much applies to the TD5 as well...
