Who is running twin snorkels? If you are is it for function or looks and would you do it again if you had the chance?
Pics outside and underbonet would be great!

There are pics somewhere of my old rangie with twin snorkels. I made a mold of a drivers side snorkel to match the rangie spares one. I did it for function, 6.5L engine needed to breath.
I sent one to andrew years ago, he needed it urgently for a build, never heard from him again. I might still have one lying around on the shelf. Made about a dozen on them and sold them, they are out there somewhere

Now that would tempt me to fit the twinscrew on the m117 in the RRC instead of the OM606.....

Just for the Snorkel!

Cool..thanks..but why does it say graeme cooper..pretty sure graeme cooper just sell LRA gear..if so i would advise the guy to remove that bit and maybe explain that the left can be had from LRA as imo selling these commercially is allready a grey area.
Having said that its good they are available.

Why does it say LRA? I made it, not them😊.
Guessing as it matches the ones they sell.
Why a grey area? If it was a direct copy then thats different.

Was asking why mention Graeme Cooper?
The grey area is due to the design being copied and mirrored..im not saying it wrong just grey..I bought 1 all the same, Just a thought that whoever is making them should put some thought into giving a small royalty to you for doing the mirror of LRAs snorkel and to LRA for coming up with the worlds best RRC snorkel design.

From what i have heard now, this is one i had made years ago, think it could be one of the first ones as its a bit thinner in the glass than the later ones, from what i'm told. Could be the one i sent to LRA they they needed the next day for a job, that i sent to them, and never heard from again. 😕 Never got any royalty either.

If you didn't get paid, call up and ask for payment if you were after payment

Very interested in this thread as i have just purchased a D4 V8 which draws air from both sides. Ideally I would like to do this for the D4.

Question or statement, ha?

Someone is making them as I bought the one on ebay (above) which was secondhand and he is supplying a new one for a little extra.

You can also get them from LRA, they also have a right mould, its just not advertised

Now I'm confuzzled as all hell...

Vern made the RH snorkel and mould, if I read correctly. It was a mirror of the LRA passenger side snorkel.

Lockee now has Vern's Mould for the RH snorkel, but not a LH mould. ?

Vern made a RH snorkel from his own mould, and "sent" it to Andrew, who never paid a cent for it - to which (if correct) Vern has the right to invoice him for it.

Now, if Lockee has a mould..... or both moulds, can I borrow (for a small fee perhaps) so I can make a pair out of the carbon twill weave I have sitting here?

Else, I guess I'll just have to fabricate something that looks slightly different so it doesn't interfere with anyone's pending lawsuit. :o;)

Well i never new andrew was making them. Am guessing a mold was taken from the snorkel i sent him years ago (don't care about the money)

How come i have never seen one? Would have thought they would use it on the storm?

Sent from my SM-G900I using AULRO mobile app

Well now i see what you are talking about with the grey area!
The few times i have asked for advice or help from that man, it was going to cost a small fortune or he wouldn't help at all. Now i know what type of person he is.
Ask him how he discovered the hydroboost!
Sorry, now no longer a fan😠

Sorry that litterally makes no sense..you copied his design and reversed it, and you send him one and didnt ask for money and didnt expect money and he quotes you normal prices when you need your rangie fixed and he is a bad person.

I really think you need to sort your snorkel issues out with him personally instead of continually bringing it up on the forums..I guarantee he doesn't even know your issue exists.

Sorry but we must have crossed wires here.
I made something that he could not provide, i made it for me, for my car, and to sell a few off to cover my costs.
Have now just found out he ripped my RH snorkel off, i never ripped his LH snorkel off, i did match it to suit though and i did discuss this with him when i was doing it and he was cool with it as he wasn't interested in it at all.
End of story with the snorkel.
Next, i needed a soft dash grab handle so i could get my car engineered, same way he does his (or did in the past) , asked if i could borrow it just for engineering, answer was no, ok hire it, will give you $500, no, $1000, no! But we can do it for you!
Gvm upgrade, what can i buy from you guys to do it to my car, and will get it inspected by his engineer, sorry no info, but it would cost you about $10k for us to do!

Sorry but i'm just not made of money, if i was he could build me a storm. And i like to work on my cars myself, as its my hobby.

Etc etc....sorry just not a fan.

Oh and he does know about the snorkel. As i saw a pic on his facebook page of that storm, and mentioned it, not in a nasty or malicious way, just hey is that the snorkel i sent you guys. Post deleted, posted it 2 more times, deleted. Gave up.

So your right hand snorkel is not a rip off of his left hand snorkel..even though it's identical..but his right hand snorkel is a rip off of yours....just remember you can't get an egg without a chicken..LRA's snorkel is the chicken..as i said before talk to Andrew if you have an issue..You may find that this kind of talk is against the rules on here.

FYI engineering these days at LRA involves so much more than you describe..rules are changing all the time..the firestorms are one of the hardest cars in oz to engineer..trust me I know..and they have to be built just right to pass.

I meant ripped off as in took a mold of the snorkel i sent him. Then started doing his own. I never did that with his left hand one as i said, all i did was match it so there was now a pair available.

So why didn't you buy one of him?
Thats all i have to say about it, i'm out!

Sorry i have to say i would have done the same if you posted that on my facebook...call him and sort it out..if you sent him something and didnt ask for money..he most likely thought you where being nice and forgot.

So does anyone actually know who is selling them on ebay now, based on your mirror copy of LRA' snorkel.

Its good to know there are 2 sources..LRA and Ebay.

Im sure everyone including Andrew appreciates you did that but at the end of the day you still coppied his design and mirrored it..I have no idea of they used your mirror or they stated from scratch for thier right mould..all i know is they can supply the same right snorkel onthe right as the left..but don't advertise it..hence why bought the eBay one and not LRA

My brother runs twin snorkels. Also running a chev.

Heres some pics, home made except for the air filter.

We went steel due to cracking a few of the glass versions and they look the bizz.

Cheers nat
