Hi Guys
This morning Ive pulled the console out and the floor plate to fit my CDL transfer lever.
When Aquarangie sold it to me he said there was no gearbox mount included, but it wasnt needed as its part of the manual shifter. It looks as thou there is nowhere to bolt this transfer lever to,the instructions on the conversion are for an auto so I need a pic of a manual disco1 setup to see if I can fabricate a plate or need to buy one.
Anybody got any photos of the manual Disco1 setup??????
Im off to look under the manual shifter rubber covers, but I dont think I will have much luck.

Hi Andrew,
I'll just run out and whip the console out of mine and take some photos .....shouldn't take too long  .
Seriously I'll see what I can dig up in Haynes or the RAVE CD and let you know.

Thanks Mahn
My RAVE only has the Disco2/Freelander so I cant find any info.
I have found another method of making an acuator using 2 socketset extensions and 2 uni joints.

I think your right Mr Zook.
Whilst I had the floor opened up I put a 10mm spanner on the accuator,it engages easy and the dashlight came on.I nearly got into making a plate to mount Aquarangies transfer lever, but if it wasnt exactly the right distance from the hi/lo lever and CDL acuator I could see all sorts of problems getting it all to work correctly.

Andrew,
Can you post a photo of the components that you have to install?

Hi Mahn
The way I was going to do it,using Disco1/Rangie setup is described at www.expeditionexchange.com/cdl/
The first 2 pics show the Disco1 transfer lever,1st is the setup for the auto trans, pic 2 is what I have, which according to Aquarangie bolts straight up to the manual box, that first pic willnot go on the manual box.
Ive changed plans,Im going to do it this way
www.disco2.com/howto/offroader/gregcdl/
It looks a bit "rough" in his diagram, but all that will be seen inside is a knob.
Anybody want the transfer lever I got from Aquarangie, cost me $50 inc postage, will pass it on for the same.

Hi Mahn
Yep thats the same as Disco2,where part 38 is,thats the transfer lever, its the top view of that I was chasing where it mounts to the nanual box. From looking at mine I would say to put the setup into the Disco2 you need the top plate off a Disco1 man gearbox.
Thanks for your help, but with no Landy wreckers nearby I will do it the way shown in my last post,I wish I found it earlier,it seems to be simple and easy.

No worries Andrew,
The alternative solution seems simple and straight forward.
Good luck with it. I hope that you are taking photos as you go...we expect a full and detailed report as well. style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif
