Hello All,
Have just returned from a great trip away, Sydney to Cairns and return some of it with a 17ft Caravan. Had a great trip and Rangie performed excellently. The only downside was a Stone chip near the edge of the windscreen that has now spread across the screen in a lovely shiny crack!!!
Knowing that these machines like a specialist repairer can anybody offer any tips or repairers that would be best to contact to get this repair completed??? I haven't contacted my local dealer as I don't want the shock value.... I look forward to hearing everyone's thoughts, recommendations.

Depending if your insurance covers windscreen, I would go through them.
Heated screen for L322 is around $2 grand, so yours would be similar I would think. :D

Thanks Gazza
I don't have the heated screen and also don't have the Windscreen option on the Insurance. May be worth thinking about next time but I have 9 months on the policy and cant hang out that long. $2K would hurt, hopefully a bit cheaper for the plain screen.

I'd reckon around $3-400 should see you with new windscreen.
I'm sure someone will let you know roughly how much a plain jane screen will be soon. :)
cheers

Obriens can do them. Just be clear if you want Optikool. Insurance paid for mine can't help you there.

You don't have to continue for 9 months left on your policy, you can cancel anytime and get the balance prorata paid back or if paying by installments cancel.
You can get another insurance company to insure you.

Thanks for the help guys, my Auto Repairer has a guy he recommends but Instant Windscreens just quoted $425 inc Fitting. As with everything LR there are many options depending on which model vehicle you have. Special note this is an aftermarket screen.

That sounds about right. I paid $475 fitted for the screen for my D3 with the rain sensor.
Make sure you ask about the replacement of the A pillar trims as well (or new clips at the very least). There's been more than one report about them flying off at high speed after the windscreen has been done.

Hello All,
Just some feedback on this thread,
I ended up going with the $425 Windscreen, the fitting and screen all seems good, no dramas.
Last weekend though we drove to Melbourne and the Hume Hwy then back through the country, Marysville, Beechworth and then Canberra, the wind noise in the car was noticeably noisier than previous. it was very windy when we were travelling but I feel a little let down by the noise in the cabin.
Not a major issue but thought it was worth sharing.https://www.aulro.com/afvb/images/imported/2016/10/225.jpg

It was the glare and heat I noticed with the after market non-tinted screen. I'm often also impressed by the sound insulation of the genuine glass though.

Yeah a mate has aftermarket screen in his car and wind noise is noticeably louder. The OEM screen seems to be better glass for both heat and sound reduction
