As some of you know I have a second Rangie with a 350 chev in it, and have been wondering what to do with it.

I was thinking about a Rangie ute, but the Missus won't let me do that.

So the plan is one of the following:

1) A bobbed soft top rangie

or

2) A 100" 110 County front extra cab with a 130 defender well back.

I am leaning towards No 2 due to the extra uses it would have, but now I'm living in Sunny QLD, I can see myself in a bobbed soft top cruising Fraser.

What do you guys think?

Here is the Rangie in Question:

you just answered your question....

will you be using it for beach work or carting things around.....?

you already have a hard top.....

go the fun buggy for where you are.....if its ready in time for summer....

the missus will also enjoy it too....
(a happy missus is a good missus....)

but me personally.....i prefer the fender....
but then again i dont like the sun too much.....

As long as you can get your rods, tackle box, bait box, 4 spare cartons a bottle of rum and an esky in it .............. go the soft top!!

8) now i like your thinking about modifying it, but really you arn't looking at the big picture here.
you now live in queensland.
so you will need all that roof area to
keep shade on the esky!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

100" County, Series III, II or I Ute.

Bobtailing and soft topping has been banned by the RSPCRR.

Another vote for the rangie, a perfect QLD weekend toy. Matt

Go the County ute. You've already got a Rangie.

Even better, make yourself one of the 100in wagons like LR made as prototypes. 4 door wagon and soft top. Perfect 8)

If it were mine I'd leave it as it is - but only because I wouldn't have two Rangies.

I love my Defender and would definitely go THAT option.

So should you.

That looks like fun.

One question, why have that X at the rear - structure I know - but why not have it in the section directly behind the passenger seats?

More rollover safety for passengers in rear.

More ability to put something in back if needed.

I also reckon you're going to want to make that rear trapezium or whatever it is into a triangle to stop the whole thing collapsing backwards if you land dead on the top windscreen corner.

Cheers
