Now I have worked out I have a series 2a 88 I'm hoping some one can maybe fill me in on its history before I start a restoration
Engine number is 25170387
The engine runs which is a huge bonus and there seems minimal oil leaks in drive chain
brakes are stuffed with the peddle hard to the floor and immovable
I'm wondering if she had some military pedigree as she has 2 fuel tanks one each side under seats and possibly cut away front guards have been swapped for what are on now
Cheers Paul

beware minimal oil leaks, may indicate no oil!

The second fuel tank was a common conversion on many vehicles. The front guards aren't cut like they would be if it was ex mil, and I don't know of any shortys they had, but I could be wrong on that last one.

Brakes can be fixed - check all your oil levels, I tend to agree with Dark61 - it may have no oil where it should, or you could be ok. If it's been sitting long enough for the brakes to be where they are, most of the seals will probably be well past it and will probably start to leak once you get the oil circulating again.

Nothing that can't be fixed, it looks like a nice little shorty. :)
