Good evening all.
Just a general question as I have as i cant find anything on the net.
This may be a bit more QLD specific, Im wondering how people go transporting firearms in these sort of vehicles?

Locked plastic trimcast-type box chained to the load tie down points on the rear floor? Bolts & ammo in separate secured container. Probably wise not to have branded stickers all over. The RFSVs have lockable steel box options but they're only 1m long (OK for takedowns).

Have a look at this
https://www.police.qld.gov.au/programs/weaponsLicensing/licenceApplication/storage/invehicles.htm
It does seem a bit weird
A trip to your local police station or an email to the weapons branch may be the go to clarify.
As for 1(a),i have always wondered what a securely closed container is,a soft case OK ?
I presume 1 is for vehicles that can be locked.
Looking at 3,if your vehicle cannot be locked,i don't know what you do.

I always went to Belmont with rifles in soft carry case and bolts and ammo locked in a box which is all that is required in Qld

Thanks all,
kinda sums up what i was thinking.
87Country, ill probably end up with a FFR so if anything it would have to be the ROPS bars
and thanks for the weblink Scarry, i was trying to find info on their site last night but failed miserably. But that section 1b does line up with what squizzyhunter is saying.
Ie having the rifle in a secure container left in the back with the canvas down would cover the been left out of sight part (altough one wouldnt wander from the vehicle too far) . and the ammo and bolts i spose can be stored in the lockable side storage.
But I dare say I will check with the local police when time comes just to keep certain people happy

Correct. No rings in FFR, and since the RFSV is a FFR with a ton of money thrown at it, no rings either.
BTW, FFRs rule! :p
