Hi,

My Disco 2 sometimes enagaes the traction control or ABS when driving over driveways especially when wet. It happens in high range with no brake applications. It sounds like the ABS or traction control....is this normal, doent happen when going extremely slow but I have a steep driveway so have to exit at a modest speed so I dont need to ride the clutch.

Any advise?

Does the TC light come on?

It could be activating if a wheel slips going up the drive.
Changed the hubs recently? :o

Cheers

Hi, first of all check tyre pressures, make sure they're even per axle and as close as possible to those recommended by the owner's manual cos the system was calibrated from factory for those tyre dimensions and pressures...if you replaced a hub recently see this: http://www.aulro.com/afvb/discovery-2/239913-discovery-2-tc.html , also replace the ABS pump relay with new to be ruled out cos a sticking relay can cause that too see this http://landroverclubvi.weebly.com/uploads/2/3/9/8/2398536/abs_relay_contacts_sticking_sec.pdf

Obvious question - have you got reasonable tread on the tyres? Are the wheels actually slipping?

If your tyres are loosing traction when you take off, traction control should cut in.

If not, I'd be looking closely at sierrafery's excellent advice above.

mine did the same when my rear suspension springs where sagged right out

the slightest bump use to make my TC light come on as the front wheels where just skipping over the ground

Thanks guys, it happens worse when wet so I think one wheel is actually slipping as I drive out over the curb on an angle but I thought it would only cut in in low range. Tyres are in excellent condition & pressures fine, no warning lamps iluminated & no hub change recently.

Just wondering if this is normal if indeed I am getting slip in high range?

Thanks again.
