Here's an interesting piece of info i just stumbled across

Vehicle standards instructions (Department of Transport and Main Roads) (http://tmr.qld.gov.au/Safety/Vehicle-standards-and-modifications/Vehicle-standards/Vehicle-standards-instructions.aspx)

bottom PDF file under light vehicles

I wonder if they will start targeting perentie's a bit more??

Umm, and they have a picture of a G Wagon

WA and SA.....although a bit hit and miss are targeting some areas.

I did bring these type of things a few years ago after talking with a Mod Plate inspector/certifier where he pointed out non-compliances.

And as Ron is away at the moment.....spelling errors in official government documents?

specifically modified for

Despite some of the terrible spelling and grammar in those documents the take home items that come up regularly on AULRO specifically for Qld are:

lightbars at roof line are okay (if in front half of vehicle)
lightbars on top rail of bullbar are not okay

non engineered suspension/tyre/wheel lift to 75mm is okay
body lift not okay

engine mods dont require a gas test but any previously fitted exhaust/ cats/ DPF should be refitted or similar fitted to new engine.
This one needs a bit more research, perhaps they have loosened requirements on things like an LS into a defender type mods????

anyway thanks Trigger for the link

I think it'll just come down to.

1. don't get a bad rep in the town you live in, via driving style etc

2. will probably come down to the cops mood on the day

I used to own a Jeep in another town and people used to get pinged for mods like tyres and lifts etc but also used to drive them like sports cars and been a dick in general.
The only thing i ever got pinged for was a defect for not having mudflaps due to out driving around on the "hoon night"
considering id never had the flaps on for about 6 months due to tearing them off while offroad (multiple times) and cops previously never seemed bothered.
