So, I am updating my tool kit with a few bits in readiness for the MOD Day on Sept 18 and thought it would be useful for those experienced ones amongst us to have a list of must have tools for the Disco life.

Of course we have the spares list as a sticky but it would be good to know what tools are essential to have in the drawer and with Fathers day coming up it could assist in also in making that an even more wonderful day for Dad!

22mm 6-sided socket for the wheel nuts.
Not a common size in most sets and don't get a 12-sided one.

Torx set.
Plenty of these around the vehicle.

Cheers,
Scott

One tool box set should cover most of it....

I wouldn't carry all that though!!! Can be reduced to much less mass and space...

Driver and bits for Screw driver
Compact hex set
Trim tools covered by a decent leatherman
Sockets - only about 6 sizes used so easy..
Tape
Gas Soldering Iron
Cable ties

In fact. Last remote trip I took:
Self Amalgamating tape
Cable ties
Leatherman
Soldering iron
Multimeter
Assorted fuses

Chops

Ha ha ha :)

Loving this thread.

The coffee machine is a must but you will need a generator to go with it so you can still drink your latte whilst waiting for help when stranded with electrical issues. :O

A great Father Day present is a tyre repair kit:

ARB 4?4 Accessories | Tyre Accessories - ARB 4x4 Accessories (http://www.arb.com.au/products/general-accessories/tyre-accessories/)

Or for those who like a decent coffee without the big outlay:

https://www.wacaco.com/products/minipresso-ns

I have both and the trick with the coffee is to preheat both the milk and minipresso.

That Awesome Rich, just that there is too much manual labour in that coffee machine he he he :)

It made a good cream on top.

I love my coffee pods, I'm Pro Aldi's coffee machine. Being Calabrese background myself I enjoy the #13 Calabrese pods from Aldi. I only drink short blacks/Espresso and can't recommend the Aldi machine enough.

From having coffee shops/restaurants in the past I know a good coffee and never in my lifetime would have thought I would recommend an Aldi coffee machine but I have to say it's all in the espresso and it makes a better espresso than most coffee shops out there. That's probably due to the people behind the machines that don't know how to pour a coffee. :O

But for those who aren't fussed and drown it with milk anyway, you can get your caffeine fix from this set up. Cool if you have a Makita range :)

You guys need to open your wallets more often, it works for me, if I open my wallet in my house I have 4 of them that just appear out of nowhere, plus a wife. I feel like Al Bundy sometimes :D

oh shizer... think i need to change this thread into the " Fathers who need support page" instead.

Maybe its the reason we suffer Landroveritus! We can blame it on the kids! (bastards... all of them :D)

I am 100% sure my manual coffee manual will NOT work mobile without the help of a decent generator....wait...now there's another gift needed..... Honda 2kva Generator please!)

Aldi's have this solar panel on sale next Saturday.

I don't know too much about this stuff, any electrical tech heads feel free to comment.

I'm wanting it for plugging into the Anderson at the rear to hopefully charge the two batteries (auxiliary & main on Traxide) would this be sufficient ❓
I really only run a fridge.

This would be a good Father's Day gift :D

Work as advertised you will need to use different adhesive for the regulator as the original fails in the heat Have a set of those, and found them to be excellent value definitely Bracket that I made up prior to fitting bar, no longer use it as aerial now on bar113133
