Hi all
My girlfriends 2010 td4 FL2 has the oil light come on occasionally at idle (stopping at the lights) after I did its last service. I have done a lot of its services with no issue in the past.
Initially I used a cheaper brand of filter (cartridge type) as the ryco one had to be ordered and i didnt want to wait, with this filter in the oil light never went out so parked the car and waited for the ryco as i read that some lesser filters for some reason held open the bypass valve and dont build oil pressure.
I got the ryco and the oil light went out as normal, but after a week or so the oil light would come on occasionally when idling once warm.
I realise this could be an oil pump issue, worn big end, oil too thin etc. but is there a possibility that the bypass valve is still not closed properly? has anyone had a similar issue? are they easy to change?
cheers in advance
